EDRP_logoAmy Clickner, CEcD, Lake Superior Community Partnership CEO, has been appointed to serve as co-chair of the Economic Development Research Partners (EDRP) program. She will serve alongside Allison Thompson, CEcD, Director of Economic Development and Tourism with the Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation in Texas.

EDRP is a program through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) to provide top-level economic developers with a means of directing cutting-edge research that advances the economic development profession as a whole. This is research that isn’t being done anywhere else. The economic developers involved choose what areas of research will be funded and how those topics will be addressed. Recent topics addressed include integrating regional businesses into the global economy, strengthening workforce systems and identifying and accessing talent for communities.

“As Chairman of the IEDC board of directors, I rely on many of my economic development colleagues to take on leadership roles within the organization,” commented IEDC Chairman, Barry Matherly. “Amy and Allison have been involved in EDRP for many years and were a natural choice to take the reins in 2016.”

Clickner and Thompson will begin by leading a retreat in July preparing for the next year of research.
