Al Quaal Recreation Area
Located in the City of Ishpeming, this park is open year round for family fun. In the summer, there’s playground equipment, hiking and biking trails, fishing on Teal Lake, and horseshoe courts. The 4th of July is celebrated with a community picnic, food vendors, softball games and live entertainment at the Park. Winter brings new experiences. Over 20 kilometers of cross country ski trails beckons skiers from all over the country. Deemed one of the most beautiful trail systems by “Traverse Magazine”, these trails offer unbelievable scenic overviews. For trail passes and prices, visit www.noquetrails.org. For family fun, there’s a small sledding hill that even the smallest toddlers can enjoy.The log lodges at either end of the park are available for rental. Contact the City office at 906-486-4181.

Jackson Mine Park

Mattson Lower Harbor Park

Located on the shores of Lake Superior, the Mattson Lower Harbor Park hosts several events throughout the year including the International Food Festival and Seafood Festival. Children and their parents love the Kids Cove. It’s a community designed and built play area with slides, swings, lookouts, and a host of other activities to get you moving. Picnic tables and an ice cream shop are open during the warm weather months.

Miners Park
In addition to being home to the Marquette Iron Range Historical Marker, Miners Park has new playground equipment and a basketball court. Miners Park is located at the intersection of US 41 and CR 492.

Picnic Rocks
Picnic rocks is located at the corner of East Fair Street and Lakeshore Boulavard. The park has restrooms, a picnic area and playground, grills for cooking, picnic tables and park benches. Shiras park, an approxiamately 31 acre park boasts a 5/8 mile long sand beach which connects Picnic Rocks to McCarty's Cove. Picnic Rocks is host to the Annual Outback on the Rocks Art Show in July.

Presque Isle Park
One of Marquette County's most beloved attractions, the pageantry of Marquette's Presque Isle Park offers splendid opportunities to experience the gift of the great outdoors any time of the year. Unmatched by natural beauty, the 323-acre park offers a free roaming refuge for white tail deer. Walk the beaches, travel through the wooded forest, enjoy evening concerts at the band shell, take a leisurely drive on the narrow road circling the isle (Peter White Drive) or stop for a picnic. Numerous cooking grills and tables are provided. An ice cream stand operates Memorial Day through Labor Day. In the winter the Presque Isle Pavilion is open with coffee and hot chocolate. View Great Lakes ore freighters being loaded with iron ore pellets at the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad Ore dock. Enjoy cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter months. The road to Presque Isle will remain open until 11:00 pm nightly. Restricted hours for walkers are: Sat & Sun 7 am - 10 am Mon & Wed 6 pm - 8 pm Tue & Thu 7 am - 1 pm All other hours are open for vehicular traffic around Presque Isle. Shiras Park
Shiras Park is an approximately 31 acre park which boasts a beautiful 5/8 mile long sandy beach which connects Picnic Rocks to McCarty's Cove.
