Transportation

Marquette County can be accessed and traveled along four state highways. The area is also the regional aviation hub of the Upper Peninsula, featuring Sawyer International Airport. The three carriers to Sawyer provide a variety of flights to major hubs, including regional jet service to Chicago O’Hare and Minneapolis.

Marquette County Transit Authority (Marqtran) offers low cost public trasportation every day of the week to almost anywhere in the county. Marqtran offers door to door service in the great Marquette and Ishpeming-Negaunee areas and limited service on Sundays and holidays. Contact Marqtran for daily schedules. Marqtran also serves as a Travel Center for Indian Trails, one of the largest and newest fleets of deluxe motor coaches in Michigan.
