Maritime Museum

Hear the tales of shipwrecks throughout the Great Lakes via interactive
exhibits and video. Located in the Old Water Works Building, it
is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. New exhibits
include "the Edmund Fitzgerald". This museum is open daily late-May
through September. Gift shop and guided tours.
Michigamme Historical Museum

Over 125 years of history are depicted through artifacts, memorabilia,
and antiques. A popular display showcases the actors from "Anatomy
of a Murder," filmed in Marquette County in 1959. See life size
replicas of Jimmy Stewart and Lee Remick. Open daily throughout
the summer.
Michigan Iron Industry Museum

Michigan's iron industry started in 1844 when the first mineral
deposits were found in Negaunee. The Museum sits on the site of
the first iron forge in the Lake Superior region. Explore what
the iron ore industry has meant to Marquette County, the State
of Michigan, and the United States through hands-on, interactive
exhibits and audiovisual programs. Trails take you to outdoor exhibits.
This museum also schedules events throughout the summer. Open daily

Artifacts and antiques depicting the City of Negaunee's past.
Negaunee was once the nation's wealthiest city because of its rich
iron ore deposits. Museum is open daily June - mid-September.

With exhibits ranging from the "Wonder Ground" which explores
the underground, to the "Creature Kingdom Touch Tank" where children
can touch living creatures, to the "Fantastic Forest" where you
climb a tree and learn of the inner workings, young and old can
experience and learn together. All of the exhibits in the investigation
station are products of kids' imaginations. Open year round, hours
vary with seasons. Shop at the Dino-Store-Us gift shop.

Upper Peninsula Children's Museum

Explore the heritage of skiing and skiers in the United States.
Over 300 people instrumental in the sport of skiing have been inducted
into the National Ski Hall of Fame. Displays tell about their accomplishments.
Also view an audiovisual presentation and exhibits showcasing the
growth and development of Alpine and Nordic skiing. The museum
also includes the Roland Palmedo Ski Library and the Ski Hall Gift
Shop. Open year round. Hours vary according to season.

Shaft Mine Museum

Cliff's Shaft Mine Museum preserves the historic Cliff's Shaft
Mine and exhibits mining archives, maps, photographs, and equipment.
Also houses the collections of the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club
and the Ishpeming Historical Society. Open seasonally.
