PARKS
Residents of Marquette County are blessed with beautiful
parks to experience in every season. Some of our larger
parks with their activities are listed below.
Al Quaal Recreational Area
Located in the City of Ishpeming, this park is open
year round for family fun. In the summer, there’s
playground equipment, hiking and biking trails, fishing
on Teal Lake, and horseshoe courts. The 4th of July is
celebrated with a community picnic, food vendors, softball
games and live entertainment at the Park.
Winter brings new experiences. Over 20 kilometers of
cross country ski trails beckons skiers from all over
the country. Deemed one of the most beautiful trail systems
by “Traverse Magazine”, these trails offer
unbelievable scenic overviews. For trail passes and prices,
visit www.noquetrails.org. For
family fun, there’s a small sledding hill that
even the smallest toddlers can enjoy. The log lodges at
either end of the park are available for rental. Contact
the City office at 906-486-4181.
