The New Free Store celebrates grand opening
MARQUETTE – The New Free Store recently teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate their grand opening at East 1420 M-28, Marquette, MI. The New Free Store provides free, quality necessities including clothes, linens, cleaning and hygiene supplies to families feeling a financial burden.
A grand opening event will be held this Thursday, October 20. Donations will be accepted and tours will be given from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Shoppers may register and shop from 3 until 6 p.m. and children activities will be available from 4 until 6 p.m. A free pumpkin will be given to those who make donations or bring in items.

Chocolay ACE Hardware celebrates grand re-opening
MARQUETTE – Chocolay ACE Hardware recently teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate their grand re-opening. To further celebrate, Chocolay ACE Hardware will be hosting grand re-opening festivities 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, September 3. The grand re-opening festivities will take place from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on September 3, 2016. They be cooking out under the canopy, with a wide range of activities to include a DJ broadcasting live on 100.3, The Point, a Prize Wheel and a grand prize giveaway of a Weber Grill.
Chocolay ACE Hardware first opened in 2001 by local resident, Tom Mahaney. After 15 successful years Tom sold the business to the next generation of his family. The store has been designed to reflect the needs of the Marquette County community, including solutions to everyday home maintenance needs, as well as an extensive array of high-quality products in categories such as paint, lawn and garden. Marquette Board of Light and Power Energy Center Ground Breaking
MARQUETTE – Marquette Board of Light and Power recently broke ground on the Marquette Energy Center. This $65 million project is expected to be completed by summer 2017 and will have three large engines that will produce more than 52 megawatts of power within minutes.
Jandron Retail Center Ground Breaking
MARQUETTE – The Lake Superior Community Partnership assisted with a groundbreaking on Friday, June 10 for the new Jandron Retail Center in Marquette Township on County Road HQ, across the street from Target. LR Swadley, of Swadley Development, was announced as the Project Developer. The 7,710 sq. ft. building is designed for highly visible, upscale retail shopping. The center’s 3,000 sq. ft. space will be anchored by the new Jandron’s Fine Jewelry store. Also 4,500 more sq. ft. of leased spaces, arranged in 1,500 sq. ft., will be available for other retailers with plenty of parking.

Blueberry Ridge Warming Hut celebrates grand opening
