Superior Vitality Celebrates New Location
1017 Superior VitalityMARQUETTE – Superior Vitality teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate their new location with a ribbon cutting. They are now located at 714 N 3rd St. in Marquette. Superior Vitality’s hours are Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Superior Vitality is a boutique and consultation clinic designed to help individuals manage the physical appearance and changes brought about by cancer and its treatment.

The Safety Store Moves to a New Location

1015 Safety StoreMARQUETTE – The Safety Store teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate their new location with a ribbon cutting. They are now located at 1467 W. Washington Street in Marquette. The Safety Store’s hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Safety Store products are also available online at www.4safetystore.com. They are dedicated to providing interactive hands-on training, along with supplying a wide variety of safety supplies.

In addition to Marquette and Ishpeming, you can now find them in Negaunee. Located inside of the newly renovated West End YMCA, Active Physical Therapy Negaunee is open Monday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They are on-site Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to take appointments and answer questions.

Chocolay River Brewing Company Grand Opening

Chocolay RiverMarquette, Mich. – Marquette’s micro-brewery scene is continuing to flourish. The Chocolay River Brewery, located inside The Bayou Restaurant & Bar at 200 West Main St. in Harvey, celebrated their debut by partnering with Lake Superior Community Partnership for a ribbon cutting .

The Chocolay River Brewery premiered their brews at this year’s U.P. Fall Beer Festival that was held September 6th where hundreds of Beer Fest goers got to sample the brewery’s five current ale offerings: The Bayou, a blonde, Rock Cut, a pale, Shot Point and Breakwall Blueberry, both wheats and Gitche Gumee, a black. Blast Furnace, an India Pale, is coming soon.  The brews will be offered during the Bayou Restaurant hours.

Groundbreaking for Renovation to River Valley Bank 3rd St. Location

0905 River Valley Ground BreakingMarquette, MI- River Valley Bank (RVB) teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate the bank’s $750K renovation at their 1101 N. Third St. location with a ground breaking ceremony. Construction began September 2nd and is scheduled to run through mid-November. During this time the branch will be closed and all customers will be welcomed at the bank’s 1140 W. Washington location.

River Valley Bank President/CEO Todd Nagel says the decision to re-invest in Marquette by remodeling the 3rd St. building was an easy one to make. “The 3rd Street District is such an essential part of the economy in Marquette we felt strongly about re-investing some of our capital in this market,” Nagel said. “We have seen such strong support and loyalty from the community since River Valley Bank built the West Washington location ten years ago we wanted to show our continued commitment to Marquette with this remodel.”

Cherrette Sister Join Revive

This building will be the third expansion and will include more floor space and higher ceilings.

Great Lakes Recovery CenterISHPEMING – Great Lakes Recovery Center (GLRC) teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) and the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce (GINCC) to celebrate its expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The newly renovated GLRC Tobin Center now houses their Ishpeming Outpatient Services Office as well as their Information Technology, Foundation, Billing, Human Resources, Accounting and Executive Offices. Their new location is 97 S. Fourth St. in Ishpeming. GLRC is a non-profit organization that specializes in providing treatment and prevention services for substance abuse and mental health disorders in the Upper Peninsula.

The small café focuses on serving healthy dishes that consist of fresh, sustainable, locally grown ingredients. It is located on the bottom floor of the Peter White Public Library and is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thomas Theatre GroupMARQUETTE – The Thomas Theatre Group of Marquette teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate the recent opening of their newly constructed theatre with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new 32,000 square foot multiplex boasts ten all-digital theatres. All auditoriums are equipped with stadium-style, high-back seats. The theatre is located at 1525 Commerce Drive in Marquette.

Studio Dance Arts

Studio Dance ArtsMARQUETTE – Studio Dance Arts teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate the grand opening of their new building with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new dance school will offer both recreational and competitive classes for boys and girls 18 months old and up. Both beginner and advanced classes will be provided. The building is located at 2684 US Highway 41 West.

Marquette Food Co-opMARQUETTE – The Marquette Food Co-op teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate the grand opening of their new building with a breaking of bread ceremony. The new location will offer an expanded product selection with in-store stations such as a deli and café. In addition, a large parking lot and bicycle rack will make the store easily accessible to customers. The new store is located at 502 W. Washington Street in Marquette.

Curran & CompanyMARQUETTE –Curran & Co. teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) to celebrate the groundbreaking for a new building at Cedarville called Wedgewood. Wedgewood will consist of one bedroom townhomes that are each equipped with a washer, dryer, dishwasher and twelve by twelve deck. The new units will become available late August and a pre-leasing price is currently being offered for each unit at $695 plus electric.

Schramm’s Superior Properties is an Upper Michigan based company that offers home and apartment rentals. The apartments are located at 2440 Southwoods Drive, off of S. McClellan Street in Marquette. These apartments feature a dishwasher, laundry facilities, in-floor heating and are two bedroom, one and a half bathroom.  Currently there are more than 150 units in Marquette area, there will be an additional 18 unites added to Southwoods apartment complex area later this year.

It is located in the old Household Appliance building on U.S. 41 Hwy across from Big Lots.
