Visiting Marquette County

Marquette County is a cluster of neighboring communities separated only by towering pines, majestic rivers and streams, and the unique characteristics each has created for itself.

Our most prized possession is the wilderness we share: the night skies illuminated by blazing green northern lights, full moons reflecting diamonds in the snow, lingering sunsets, waterfalls rushing to open waters, and waves cresting against the shoreline of the greatest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior.

We're surrounded by our past. Remnants of our mining heritage loom large against the horizon while iron ore cars continue to travel to Lake Superior ore docks.

New shops displaying artwork, restaurants serving whitefish, symphonies playing in restored historic structures, and theaters highlighting local and national performers are a sampling of the cultural amenities added to this beautiful, historic place.
