Benefits of being a partner of the LSCP

Posted by on September 14, 2017

MARQUETTE — Is your business a partner of the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP)? Did you know that the money you invest allows us to support economic development in Marquette County? The dues paid by our partners help us to provide business development services that help businesses in all sectors and stages. Not only does your support strengthen our local economy; you and your business also receive numerous benefits. Today, I want to highlight a few of the benefits that you receive as an investor in the LSCP.

You’ll want to start by checking your business directory page on our website. Each partner has their own page that includes contact information, a business description and a website link. And if you invest at the business partner level or higher, you may also include your logo, photos, video, social media links, hours of operation, a map to your location, an expanded business description and more. To make updates, contact our staff or log in and make them on your own.

The lobby in our office is reserved for LSCP Partners to showcase their businesses. Let us help you grow your brand by including your marketing materials, business cards, etc., in our lobby. We have many people walk through our office each day. Some are tourists looking for a hotel or place to eat, and others are looking for business referrals, perhaps someone to assist with building a website or accounting services. Make sure you have your promotional materials on display. When someone stops in or calls our office, we always refer them to a partner first.

You probably notice eblasts from us throughout the week. All partners are eligible to send eblasts to our list for an $80 fee. Our eblasts reach about 2,400 people. What a great way to get your message out! We can work with you to design the eblast using your logo, photos, links and content. These do book quickly, so get on the calendar as soon as you are thinking about sending something out.

Have a product or service to highlight? Then you need to take advantage of the Key to the County partner-to-partner benefit program. All partners are eligible to offer discounts for other partners and their employees take advantage of. If your business does not provide a discount, you and your employees still receive a key and can make use of these generous savings. Let us know if your office is in need of some more keys!

We host many events throughout the year and LSCP partners receive discounts to all LSCP paid events. Some of our favorite networking events/programs include the Lake Superior Leadership Academy, the Business to Business Expo and Workshop, the LSCP Annual Dinner, Fall Fest and our annual Golf Outing. Looking to advertise in Vision Magazine? There is a discount for that as well!

While on the topic of events, we hope you will consider registering for the Business to Business Expo, taking place on Oct. 26. This event includes educational workshops targeted toward businesses and their staff, an expo for businesses to get to know each other, and is followed by a Business After Hours. This is the perfect opportunity to bring businesses together from across the Upper Peninsula! Keep an eye out for my next article; we will be sharing all of the details of our keynote speakers and breakout sessions!

Have a job opening that you’d like to fill? The LSCP can help you find talent by posting your listing to our website, social media outlets, and by connecting you with different employment resources offered in the area. Contact Erik Powers at 906.226.6591 or epowers@marquette.org to have your position listed as Job of the Week or for any other talent needs.

Not an LSCP Partner, but looking for some assistance? Take advantage of some of the services below that don’t require an investment into the Partnership.

The LSCP can help plan ribbon cuttings, anniversaries and groundbreakings. We bring all of the supplies, invite local officials, media and Marquette County Ambassadors. If you don’t already have a press release prepared, our staff will create one for you and submit it to the local media, making it easy to spread the news about your business.

Attending Business After Hours is a perfect way to connect and network with peers and prospective customers. This event takes place twice a month at businesses around Marquette County. Our next Business After Hours is today from 5-7 p.m., hosted by NMU Athletics at the Berry Events Center. You must be a partner to host but everyone is encouraged to attend!

Don’t forget, your investment in the LSCP allows our team to provide business development services to all stages, sizes and sectors of businesses-whether you’re a partner or not.
