Sarah Lucas, AICP, has a 20-year career in community and economic development in small communities and rural areas in Michigan. In her roles at Networks Northwest, Housing North, and the Western U.P. Planning and Development region, she led a variety of cross-sector initiatives and planning efforts that have resulted in long-lasting coalitions, local and state policy change, and enhanced regional capacity for growth and investment. Sarah currently serves as Board president of the Michigan Association of Planning. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
Director of Marketing
Ashley has 12 years of experience in marketing, event planning, and creative design. She is a graduate from Central Michigan University with a degree in Commercial Recreation and Facility Management. She is a member of Connect Marquette.
Director of Business Development
Mary has five years of experience in economic development and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Economic Developer. She also has experience in project management, customer service and real estate (short sales and foreclosures), is a Certified Business Service Professional, certified in Economic Modeling Specialists and a notary public. She serves on the board of directors of the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA), serves on the the board of directors for the Marquette Breakfast Rotary, is a member of Connect Marquette, and the Accelerate U.P. resource team. Mary is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Business Management.
Dickinson Area Economic Development Alliance
Lois is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP). She has been the Executive Director for the Dickinson Area Economic Development Alliance since 2017 her economic development background began in 2002 when she was hired at the LSCP where she worked for 11 years. She is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Business Development Representative
Brooke has experience in customer service, consulting and team management. She is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Accelerate U.P. resource team, CTE Committee and the Alumni Advisor for NMU TEAM Business.
Outreach and Development Specialist
Megan received her degree in Communication Studies from Northern Michigan University. She loves volunteering with the Marquette County Veterans Alliance, St. Peter’s Cathedral, Connect Marquette, and events around the County of Marquette.
In 2021, Michaela (Kayla) graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Media Design Management. While pursuing her degree, Michaela worked in various marketing and social media positions. She has experience working within multiple industries such as real estate, manufacturing, mortgage, aviation, travel, and more. At Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP), Michaela focuses her efforts on social media, marketing, and creating/distributing communications materials.
Matt is the Controller at the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP). He has experience in public accounting and computer programming. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Accounting.
Economic & Community Development Specialist
Elle Jansen is the Community and Economic Development Specialist at the Lake Superior Community Partnership. Prior to joining the LSCP, she completed a fifteen-month placement as the CEDAM Community Development Fellow for the City of St. Ignace, MI. She is passionate about working with others to establish strong towns, community vibrancy, and pride in where you live.
Jansen earned a bachelor’s degree from Albion College in 2019 with a major in urban planning and public policy. Elle is a volunteer board member of the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy.
