Lake Superior Community Partnership Celebrates Distinguished Service Award Winners

Marquette, MI – On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) held its highly anticipated Annual Dinner at the NMU Northern Center Ballrooms. The event brings together diverse community members, leaders, and businesses to celebrate economic development.

The theme of this year’s Annual Dinner was ‘The Great Outdoors,’ embracing the region’s natural beauty and outdoor spirit. Attendees were encouraged to dress in Professional Camper attire, with hiking boots and jeans deemed acceptable for the occasion.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards, which honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the community. This year’s recipients included Carol Fulsher, who was recognized for her individual achievements, and J.M. Longyear, who was honored in the business category. These remarkable individuals and their significant impact on the community have left a lasting legacy in Marquette County.

In addition to the award presentations, attendees enjoyed an array of activities, including a silent auction, bucket raffle, 50/50 drawing, and a chance to win $250 cash. Furthermore, the event featured tree plugs from the Marquette County Conservation District that each attendee received, providing a tangible reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and conservation efforts.
