A Thoughtful Leadership Transition
The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) has begun a search for its next Chief Executive Officer as the organization continues strong momentum on a comprehensive, community-based economic development strategy.
This transition is planned, intentional, and rooted in continuity. LSCP’s current Chief Executive Officer will remain in the role until a successor is selected and onboarded, including a structured transition period to ensure stability, knowledge transfer, and continued progress. The current Chief Executive Officer stepping down due to the evolving needs of their family.
While the search is open nationally, LSCP anticipates that the successful candidate will be familiar with collaborative, place-based economic development and comfortable operating within a close-knit community and regional network.
Our Vision for the Next Chief Executive Officer
LSCP is seeking a leader who understands that economic development is, first and foremost, about people—and that strong organizations are built over time through trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.
The next Chief Executive Officer will be a visible, high-profile community leader who values the relationships that make progress possible. This is someone who recognizes the importance of a cup of coffee and a thoughtful conversation in the morning, and the pursuit of a complex, multi-million-dollar initiative in the afternoon. Both matter—and often one makes the other possible.
We are looking for a leader who respects the work done in recent years and sees continuity as a strength. The right candidate will build on LSCP’s intentional evolution by refining and expanding what is already working, while thoughtfully capturing new opportunities as resources and capacity allow.
At the same time, this role calls for a big-picture thinker and strong communicator—someone who can translate complex ideas into clear, accessible language that invites people to the table and encourages shared problem-solving. The ideal leader empowers staff, partners, and stakeholders to have impact through LSCP and takes pride in building strong teams, networks, and partnerships.
LSCP is a well-established, county-wide economic development organization with a strong track record of collaboration, growth, and impact. Additional detail about the organization, its structure, and recent momentum is available in the Chief Executive Officer Candidate Package. You can also access the full position description here.
