Summer Skilled Trades Camps for Kids 2016
Kids will explore the skilled trades in these one day NMU camps. Students will have a half hour off for lunch; when they come back they will have the opportunity to look at careers while playing games. After lunch and career exploration, kids will go to a second camp or continue on with their first chosen camp. Some of the camps are 1/2 days and include 2 mini camps, the engineering camp is 3 full days, and some camps are a full day i.e., Building Design and Construction, Cosmetology and Culinary Arts. The camps are taught by Northern’s faculty and the Flying Moose staff in the case of the Bike Camp. Kids will have the opportunity get to know the professors they may learn from in the traditional classroom someday. Kids must register for a full day camp; no half day registrations.
