Amy Clickner receives Medalist Award from the Michigan Economic Developers Association

MARQUETTE – Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) CEO, Amy Clickner, was awarded the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) Medalist Award last week at their annual meeting at Boyne Mountain.
The Medalist Award identifies outstanding contributions to economic development within Michigan. Recipients of this award have demonstrated commitment to the profession of economic development, dedication to the growth of his or her community of responsibility and have shown a record of achievement for an extended period of time.
“Amy is one of the great economic development leaders in Michigan,” said JoAnn Crary, President of Saginaw Future, who nominated Clickner. “She was truly deserving of MEDA’s highest recognition because of her commitment to the economic development profession and to her community and for her long term record of achievements.”
Over the last five years, Clickner has led the LSCP in surpassing its economic development goals. Between 2009 and 2013, the LSCP has assisted 1,165 businesses. The LSCP economic development team has supported projects that impacted 10,639 jobs, with 856 jobs projected and 323 jobs retained in 2013. Clickner has also led the LSCP to become one of two Accredited Economic Development Organizations in the state.
“I am very humbled to be recognized by the Michigan Economic Developers Association,” said Clickner. “This award validates the commitment of the LSCP staff, board of directors and stakeholders to successfully provide economic development services within our region.”
Clickner, a Certified Economic Developer and Certified Fundraising Manager, currently serves on the board of directors for the MEDA and International Economic Development Council. She is also one of 15 economic developers serving on the Michigan Economic Development Corporation Collaborative Development Council representing Region 1, which encompasses the entire Upper Peninsula.
