DELTA TO ADD SPRING FLIGHT

MARQUETTE, Michigan – Delta Air Lines has announced plans to add a third daily flight to Detroit from Sawyer International Airport, effective March 2, 2013.   All three non-stop flights will continue to be operated with Delta’s regional jet aircraft.

While passenger volume on existing flights has been strong, local demand for more seats and competitive fares is increasing.  “We are fortunate that we can now offer a mid-day flight option to vacationers making their spring break travel plans,” comments Duane DuRay, Airport Manager.

This is great news for Sawyer considering nationwide trends have focused on reductions or eliminations of service.  Delta‘s latest commitment strengthens our community partnership with Delta, as it significantly impacts economic development in the area.
