Distinguished Service Award Winners Announced

The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2016 Distinguished Service Awards, sponsored by the Marquette County Ambassadors. Checker Transport and Checker Bus were selected in the business category and Stu Bradley as the individual award recipient. The awards will be presented in front of community members attending the LSCP’s Annual Dinner held in Northern Michigan University’s Great Lakes Room on March 10.
“The Marquette County Ambassadors are pleased to be able to help recognize businesses and individuals who are making significant contributions to economic development and provide stewardship for the advancement of our community,” commented Dave Aro, Ambassadors Leader. “I am very pleased with the selection committee’s choice for these prestigious awards.”
Criteria used in the award selection process include:
• Makes a strong contribution to the betterment of Marquette County through the use of time, talent and/or treasure
• Helps the Lake Superior Community Partnership reach its community and economic development goals
• Demonstrates leadership within the community
“Stu has devoted so much of his time to the LSCP and our community, most recently by promoting careers in the skilled trades which is very important to our area,” says Amy Clicker, LSCP CEO. “We are also very excited to honor Checker Transport and Checker Bus, a business who is highly involved in economic development and gives back to our community through their philanthropic efforts and continued investment in our community.”
