Eagle Mine Announces Appointment of Michael Welch as General Manager

CHAMPION, MICHIGAN, January 14, 2014 – Eagle Mine is pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Welch has joined Lundin Mining as General Manager Eagle Mine effective January 6, 2014. Mr. Welch has more than 20 years of combined operations and project management experience, and holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Geology as well as a Master of Science Degree in Geology.
Mr. Welch was most recently responsible for Glencore Xstrata’s Raglan nickel operations in Quebec, and previously served as project director on the successful construction and startup of the Nickel Rim South project in Sudbury, Ontario.
Mr. Paul McRae, Senior Vice President Projects, commented, “I’m very pleased that Michael has accepted our offer to lead Eagle Mine. I look forward to the commencement of operations in Q4 2014 with Michael guiding the team.”

ABOUT EAGLE MINE
The Eagle Mine is located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The underground mine is host to a high-grade nickel/copper deposit. Initial production expected to commence in Q4 2014.
