2014 IEDC Awards Ribbon silverMARQUETTE – The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) received a Silver Excellence in Economic Development Award for its 2014 project in the category of General Purpose Website for communities with populations of 25,000 – 200,000 from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Monday, October 20, during the IEDC Annual Conference, which was held October 19-22, in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Economic development efforts have long been a keystone in the quest to bolster the economy and improve quality of life in every locality across the country,” said Bill Sproull, IEDC chair. “As the nation continues to tackle challenges in the midst of global uncertainty, these efforts have taken on an even greater significance. With this award, we laud trendsetting organizations like Lake Superior Community Partnership for leading the charge.”

The Lake Superior Community Partnership’s mission is to stimulate and sustain a vibrant regional economy by facilitating economic growth and prosperity.  The LSCP is Marquette County’s leading resource for economic development and strives to provide a wide variety of affordable and effective development services for businesses and municipalities, make the connections that matter between businesses, organizations, leaders and legislators and provide a powerful legislative voice, advocating for programs and policies that strengthen our regional economy.

The website was re-designed in 2013 with a goal of improving access to business development services for current and potentials clients and providing site selectors with the up to date information they desire.

IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
