Job Title: Marketing Intern
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications, Assistant to Events and Marketing
Type of Employment: Temporary, Intern, Unpaid (January – August (potentially longer))
Minimum Education Required: Must be currently enrolled in Northern Michigan University working toward a degree in marketing, communications, public relations or similar degree.
Key Job Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Assistant to Events and Marketing with their day-to-day tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Answering phones
- Assisting customers who walk in
- Event planning
- Membership services/sales
- Filing
- Writing
- Website updates
Qualifications: Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Outlook, Excel and Publisher. Other qualifications needed included customer service skills, written and oral communication skills and organization skills. Must be available approx. 15 hours per week including a few after hours’ events.
