Marquette General chooses location for new hospital

MARQUETTE — Duke LifePoint has submitted a memorandum of understanding for the location of a replacement hospital.

They are seeking to build their new Marquette General Hospital location at the former Roundhouse property in the city of Marquette. The memorandum will be discussed at a special meeting on Monday September 8 at 4 p.m.

Marquette General released the following statement:

“We are pleased to have reached this milestone and look forward to the City Commission meeting at which the potential site for the new Marquette General Hospital will be discussed. Out of respect for the City Commission’s planned deliberation and process, we cannot comment further on this matter at this time. Officials from Marquette General and Duke LifePoint will be present at the meeting and available for comment at its conclusion.”
