Upcoming Technology and Liability Changes

Does your business accept credit or debit cards? If so, you need to hear this!
What is EMV?
EMV is a microchip card technology for debit, credit and prepaid cards. It stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa.
We recently hosted a workshop with Range Bank and the Michigan Retailers Association to help Marquette County businesses prepare for the technology and liability shift that is happening in October 2015. Banks have taken the liability for fraud in the past, and this will shift liability to the retailer in certain scenarios. Many retailers have not heard of the new chip technology and the need to be compliant in order to protect their business.
