Partnership looks forward to B2B Expo

Amy 2About a month ago, the LSCP announced that we will be hosting our first ever Business to Business (B2B) Expo and Workshop. This event will take place on October 27 at NMU’s University Center. The B2B event will include a morning of educational workshops targeted toward businesses and their staff, an afternoon expo for businesses to get to know each other and a Business After Hours. There is a plethora of ways businesses can participate!

Ready to share your story with businesses across the region? Well, we are currently taking applications for presenters at this event. The morning will feature two breakout sessions giving attendees the opportunity to sit in on presentations on topics that they are most interested in. LSCP partners are able to submit a presentation idea that they think would be beneficial and educational for the business community. The application deadline is July 8. At the end of July, a committee will narrow the field to up to eight presentations that will be featured at the event. To submit your presentation, visit www.marquette.org and click on Business to Business Expo and Workshop under the event calendar.

In addition to the breakout sessions, we will feature a presentation from Jacob Schroeder, the Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) Services Director with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). He will discuss PMBC and how Marquette County businesses can use it to connect with others throughout the state. The LSCP website currently houses this MEDC business matchmaking tool under Business Resources and Business to Business. Go ahead and check out your business listing.

The morning sessions portion of the day will cost $25 for LSCP partners ($40 for non-partners) and will include lunch and a “to be announced” keynote speaker. Registration is now available at www.marquette.org.

Presenting not your thing? Then snag some booth space at the expo. After lunch, businesses will have display space around the Great Lakes Rooms for anyone to visit. LSCP partners will have priority for expo space and space will be limited. There is no cost to attend the expo portion of the event. Later in the afternoon, this event will turn into a Business After Hours (BAH), again, open to the general public. As always, the BAH will feature hor d’oeuvres, cocktails, prizes and plenty of networking!

Sponsorships are available and include many marketing benefits including eblast ads, banner placement, logo recognition, booth space at the expo, Business After Hours sponsorship and more. They range in price from $250 to $2,500.

This event is a fundraiser for the LSCP putting dollars to work in economic development. We look forward to this event as we LOVE to see local businesses working together. If we can help you connect and provide a cost effective educational outlet for your staff, the event will be considered a success!
