2011 LSCP Golf Outing

I don’t want to jinx us, but it seems as though spring is finally here! The weather is getting warmer and we are talking about high school graduations, summer break, vacation plans and of course the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s 12th annual Golf Outing!
This years outing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14th and will be held at Wawonowin Country Club in Ishpeming. The fun-filled day packed with activities begins with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. There are chances to win great prizes throughout the day with our poker run, a putting contest with a prize of $10,000 and a chance to win a new car or $1 million with a Hole-In-One! Other hole events include free beverage holes sponsored by Pepsi, water hole sponsored by Motions, longest drive and longest putt contests, beer hole, “move up” tee and mulligan.
The Golf Outing is one of our biggest fund raising events of the year. By participating, your efforts allow the LSCP to continue its mission to strengthen economic and community development in Marquette County. The cost for participation is $500 per team of five, or $100 for an individual golfer. Registration includes green fees, a shared golf cart, bag lunch, social hour and dinner.
This annual event is not only an important fundraiser for the LSCP, but it’s a wonderful opportunity for business folks to get out of the office and enjoying a beautiful day on the links with their colleagues as well. It’s also the perfect platform to network and make valuable business connections while having fun. Take a client, reward your staff or just get out of the office and relax!
Opportunities for sponsorships are still available to showcase your business. These include tee sign sponsors, hole sponsors or title sponsorship. Your business will be promoted before, during and after the event. Some members who have already committed as major sponsors include Blue Cross Blue Shield, Manpower, Holiday Station Stores and Fox Negaunee.
Throughout the summer, non-profit organizations will be holding their own golf outing fund raising events such as the Bell Foundation, service clubs, March of Dimes and the Beacon House to name a few. While they are a great excuse to get out on the links and have a good time, they are an even greater importance to the vitality of our community organizations. Keep your eyes and ears open for terrific opportunities to help our non-profits all summer long.
Speaking of fund raising events, I just want to quickly say congratulations to Bay Cliff Health Camp and all the volunteers that were involved in organizing last Tuesday’s spectacular Packers Tailgate Tour. It was another impressive event for Marquette County with a Tailgate Tour record attendance of 4,000, smashing the existing record of 800. Great job!
