Annual Dinner 2011

Posted by on February 28, 2011

Bust out the bow ties and squeeze into those old prom dresses, because this year we are “Rolling out the Red Carpet” for the LSCP Annual Dinner Celebration! Think paparazzi, movie stars, rock stars, glitz and glamour!  On Friday, March 18, from 5:30pm to 10pm in the Northern Michigan University Great Lakes Rooms we’re creating an Academy Awards style celebration!
The LSCP Annual Dinner Celebration is an opportunity for our members and partners to get together and network in a fun atmosphere.  Each year has a theme, and guests are encouraged to dress up to match the motif.
As a non-profit organization, the Lake Superior Community Partnership relies greatly on fundraising events that we hold throughout the year.   The proceeds generated by each fundraiser go toward economic and community development efforts in Marquette County. The Annual Dinner Celebration is by far our biggest fundraiser each year.
This year we are switching things up just a little to keep it fresh.  By popular demand we are instilling more opportunities for our guests to mix and mingle.  We’ve opted to provide a buffet-style smorgasbord rather than a sit-down dinner, and have spaced out and minimized the program to allow for more networking.
Members have many opportunities to market their business through various Annual Dinner Sponsorships.  Some sponsorship packages include such benefits as complimentary Annual Dinner tickets, email broadcasts, logos placed on our website (www.marquette.org), event exposure and other special recognition.
Additionally, members have the opportunity to sponsor prize baskets for raffles and silent auction.  Each prize basket is donated by member businesses and is a great way to market your product or service to hundreds of other business people!
Along with the basket drawings, there will be drawings for other great prizes.  This year, one lucky person will have the chance to drive away with a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, and our Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 vacation voucher from Holiday Travel!  Of course, there will be prizes for the “Best Dressed” individual, couple and group in our “Red Carpet” theme.
On a serious note, we will take time during the evening to honor members who have contributed to the betterment of Marquette County and the LSCP through the use of time, talent and treasure with the presentation of our Distinguished Service Awards.  Two awards, one for a business and one for an individual, will be presented to recipients who have continually demonstrated leadership in the community.  NMU president Dr. Les Wong is this year’s individual honoree, while Upper Peninsula Health Plan under CEO Dennis Smith gets the award in the business category.  We are excited to tell you more about the impact these well deserved recipients have made on our organization and the community.
This year’s Annual Dinner Celebration promises to be fun for all, and another great opportunity for LSCP members to advertise their business, network, and just have a good time all while contributing to the goals and efforts of the Lake Superior Community Partnership.
Tickets are $75 per person and can be reserved by calling our office by Wednesday, March 9.  For more information on attending, sponsorship, or becoming a member please call Crystal Kuklinski at 226-6591 or log on to www.marquette.org.
