Comedy Zone – Partnership Style

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” –E.E. Cummings
Every now and then, the Lake Superior Community Partnership likes to put on an event that’s just plain fun!  Believe it or not, those of us in the economic development business actually do have a sense of humor, and so do a lot of our partners.  That’s why “The Comedy Zone – Partnership Style” is back for another year at Upfront and Company, Friday, October 28,2011.
The event will once again be hosted by the illustrious Don Ryan, Marquette City Commissioner, former local TV personality, longtime LSCP board member and Comedy Zone creator.  Doors will open at 5:30 pm for heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and networking, with the show beginning at 7:00 pm.
The event is a comedy club of sorts, and will feature community leaders performing comedy routines for an audience which is expected to sell out at 300 people.  Comedy Zone – Partnership Style is the perfect way to end a long work week by kicking back and having a few laughs (with probably a few at my expense!).  Can’t make it?  It’s also a great opportunity to treat your staff or clients and customers to a fun night out, or sponsor a table for a 40 Below member or local VIP.
Some acts from previous years include “Desperate Housewives of Marquette County,” “Who’s on First,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and fan-favorite stand up acts Mark Canale, Danny Peterson and Stu Bradley.   This year’s line-up promises to be hilarious once again with skits such as  “Don & Amy’s Laugh In,” “Miss Minnie May Margaret and Her All Girl Band” and “Hail to the Chief.” These bits promise to entertain, but I can’t divulge all of our secrets so you’ll have to come and check it out for yourself!
Now even though it’s all in good fun, this is an important fundraising event.  Your ticket purchase supports the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s economic and community development strategies for Marquette County.  However, we really do focus on providing an entertaining evening for all adults.
Cost for the evening includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and the show.  Reserve your seat today for $60 per person or $380 for a table of eight, by calling the Lake Superior Community Partnership office at 226-9658 and don’t have a wasted day without laughter!
